Indian Head and Montmartre RCMP responded to four new files in the Montmartre detachment’s coverage area along Highway 48 from Nov. 15 through Sunday according to the most recent weekly report as submitted by Indian Head detachment Sgt. Ryan Case.
NOV. 15
A vehicle was stopped for speeding on Highway 48 near Odessa. The motorist from Pilot Butte was issued a warning for the speeding and a ticket for towing a trailer without valid registration. The fine was $1,750.
Another vehicle was also stopped for speeding on Highway 48 at Montmartre. The motorist from Vibank was issued a written warning.
And police also received a call through 911 from a motorist on Highway 48 that was near Montmartre. The caller said that there were three combines driving down the highway and there was no room to pass. Police were unable to attend but no offence was being committed anyway because combines are able to use the roadways. This was also an inappropriate use of the 911 system.
NOV. 17
Police conducted a well-being check on a male in the rural area north of Montmartre. Police ended up taking the male to the hospital in Indian Head for medical assessment.
